# Inspection of Minutes Books of General Meeting [Section 119]
## Inspection Rights
- Minutes book of general meeting is open for inspection by any member himself (and NOT by anyone on his behalf).
- During business hours for at least 2 hours each day.
- Without any fees.
- Subject to such restrictions as are specified in AOA or imposed in general meeting.
## Copies of Minutes
- Any member may request a copy of minutes.
- Company must furnish it within 7 working days of the request.
- Fees: as specified in AOA, but maximum ₹ 10 per page.
### Special Rule — Soft Copies
A member who requests a soft copy of minutes of general meetings held during the preceding 3 FYs must be furnished such soft copy free of cost.
## Punishment for Default
If inspection is refused or copies not furnished within time:

| Company | ₹ 25,000 |
| Officer in default | ₹ 5,000 |
Additionally, the NCLT may direct immediate inspection of the minutes book or that the copy be sent immediately.
